You are invited to a special joint production presented by Veselica of Chicago and the Východná Slovak Dancers of Toronto. The two Slovak folk ensembles will unite on one stage to share the powerful story of Slovak emigration to North America through authentic folk dance, live music, traditional costumes, narration, and visual storytelling.

“Zostalo to v nás” (“It Stayed Within Us”) takes audiences on a journey back to the experiences of our ancestors, leaving the old country behind, crossing into the unknown, building new lives in North America, and finding ways to preserve the traditions, values, and identity they carried with them.

Featuring more than 80 performers, children, youth, adult dancers, singers, and musicians from Chicago and Toronto, this moving production celebrates the strength of our roots and the enduring connection between generations.

Presented during the historic year of America’s 250th anniversary, Zostalo to v nás honors the Slovak-American immigrant experience and the cultural heritage that continues to live within us today.
